Happy Days (1974-1984) tells the story of life in Milwaukee in the 1950s, focusing on the Cunningham family. The show was in the Nielsen "Top 20" for each of the comedy's first six seasons on ABC. On October 30, 1973 his 28th birthday, HENRY WINKLER (born in 1945) joined the popular sitcom Happy Days as Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli. Although his character was never meant to be the star of the show, kids of all ages were imitating his leather-jacketed greaser with his trademark "Aaaay!" Both before and since Happy Days completed its run (1983), Winkler appeared in feature films such as Heroes (1977), Night Shift (1982) and Scream (1996). Beginning with a TV movie, A Smoky Mountain Christmas (1986), he has also directed. Winkler is the author of a popular series of children's books featuring "Hank Zipzer, the world's best underachiever." In 2002, Winkler became the executive producer of the long-running TV game show Hollywood Squares. When SCOTT BAIO (born in 1961) began appearing on the popular sitcom, Happy Days, in 1977 as Charles "Chachi" Arcola, he began a long run as a popular TV star. A spinoff, Joanie Loves Chachi, debuted in 1982, followed by Charles in Charge and a role in the first two seasons of Diagnosis: Murder. Later, Baio hosted Before They Were Stars and made recurrent guest appearances on Arrested Development. His film credits include Bugsy Malone (1979), Skatetown, U.S.A. (1979), Foxes (1980), I Love N.Y. (1987), Detonator (1998), Very Mean Men (2000) and Dumb Luck and Face to Face (both 2001), and Baio has also appeared in a number of made-for-TV movies.
