Picture postcard signed: "Hardy Krüger". With pencil notations on verso in unknown hand. Color, 4x5¾ overall, image 4x5 (one surface). Captioned: "Hardy Kruger". German postcard by DLB. No message on verso. Hardy Krüger, born in Berlin-Wedding, Germany in 1928, is a German actor with over 60 move and TV shows to his credit. Krüger's first movie appearance was in Junge Adler (1943), while he was a member of the Hitler Youth. His next movie appearance wasn't until six years later, in Diese Nacht vergess ich nie (1949), and he had to wait another three years for his first starring role, in Illusion in Moll (1952). Krüger became a popular actor in Germany and made occasional appearances in English and American films like The One that Got Away (1957), Hatari! (1962), The Flight of the Phoenix (1965), Barry Lyndon (1976) and A Bridge Too Far (1977). He also played Field Marshal Erwin Rommell in the 1988 mini-series War and Remembrance. Light toned and creased, otherwise in fine condition.
