His business card as Engineer of the City of London, affixed to a
sheet with a newspaper article about his principal project: the opening of the
new London Bridge.
Business Card signed: "Harold K. King", 3x2. Ink signature on
his printed card as City Engineer of the Corporation of London. Affixed to a
sheet with un-dated newspaper article about the new London Bridge, picturing
King (creased, irregularly cropped, binding holes at left edge). Harold K.
King (CBE) was Chief Engineer of the City of London in the late 1960s and
early 1970s, closely associated with the new London Bridge,
officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II on March 17, 1973. In April
1968, King traveled to Arizona to negotiate with Robert McCullough the sale of
the old London Bridge of 1831, which was demolished, with the place location
of each piece carefully numbered, and transported to the US for reconstruction
in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Fine condition.
