The 1996 Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry signs an index card.
Signature: "Harold Kroto", 5x3 index card. English chemist Sir Harold Kroto (1939-2016) of the University of Sussex shared with research colleagues Richard Smalley and Robert Curl of Rice University the Nobel Prize in Chemistry (1996) for discovering carbon molecules bound in the form of a ball ("buckminsterfullerenes"). This discovery was a happy byproduct of Kroto's successful search for carbon chains in interstellar space. Kroto, who joined the faculty of Florida State in 2004, continues his research in nanoscience and nanotechnology. He also played a key role in developing science programs for TV and the internet.
