PAUL NEWMAN (1925-2008, born in Shaker Heights, Ohio) was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actor for Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958), The Hustler (1961), Hud (1963), Cool Hand Luke (1967), Absence of Malice (1981), The Verdict (1982), The Color of Money (1986) and Nobody's Fool (1994), winning in 1986. In a survey of film experts for the January 16, 2001 edition of the British magazine, "Radio Times", Newman was voted the greatest movie actor of all time. The mother of actresses Kelly and Jamie Lee Curtis with former spouse Tony Curtis, JANET LEIGH (1927-2004, born Jeanette Helen Morrison in Merced, California) was one of Hollywood's biggest stars from the late 1940s into the 1960s. Best remembered for her Oscar-nominated murder victim in the shower in Psycho (1960), she also starred in such films as Little Women (1949), Scaramouche (1952), My Sister Eileen (1955), Touch of Evil (1958), The Manchurian Candidate (1962).
