Photograph inscribed and signed: "To Arthur-/Best Wishes/Ed Gibson", "Owen K. Garriott", "Jack Schmitt" and "Joe Kerwin". Color, 10x8 overall, image 9½x5¼ (one surface). NASA photograph captioned on verso, indicating these five scientist-astronauts were selected by NASA on June 29, 1965. Also pictured, but not signing, is F. Curtis Michel, who left NASA in 1969. SCHMITT walked on the Moon during the Apollo 17 mission (December 7-19, 1972). Skylab 1 was the unmanned Skylab Station launched May 14, 1973. KERWIN was on Skylab 2, the first manned Skylab launch, and established the Skylab Orbital Assembly in Earth orbit, conducting medical and other experiments (May 25 - June 22, 1973). GARRIOTT was on Skylab 3, which performed systems and operational tests and thermal shield deployment (July 28 - September 25, 1973). GIBSON was on Skylab 4, which serviced an unmanned Saturn workshop and obtained medical data for extending space flights (November 16, 1973 - February 8, 1974).
