Autograph sentiment signed: "Harry Akst/Saluta Hildegarde (a Goddess)", "Bert E. Friedlob", and one unknown signature on verso, 9½x2¼. HARRY AKST (1894-1963) was an American songwriter and composer, best known for the smash hits "Am I Blue?", "Baby Face", and "Dinah". His songs have been recorded by a long list of well-known artists, including Bing Crosby, the Boswell Sisters, Louis Armstrong, and Sam Donahue. In addition to his pop hits, Akst composed stock music and themes for several films, though many of them went uncredited, and composed music used in 14 Broadway plays. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1983. BERT E. FRIEDLOB (1906-1956) was a producer on seven films, including The Fireball (1950), The Steel Trap (1952), and The Star (1952). He was married to actress Eleanor Parker between 1946 and 1953, with the couple having three children together. Irregularly cut. Toned. Right edge creased.
