HARRY AKST (1894-1963) was an American songwriter and composer, best
known for the smash hits "Am I Blue?", "Baby Face", and "Dinah". His
songs have been recorded by a long list of well-known artists, including Bing
Crosby, the Boswell Sisters, Louis Armstrong, and Sam Donahue. In addition
to his pop hits, Akst composed stock music and themes for several films, though
many of them went uncredited, and composed music used in 14 Broadway plays. He
was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1983. BERT E. FRIEDLOB
(1906-1956) was a producer on seven films, including The Fireball
(1950), The Steel Trap (1952), and The Star (1952). He was
married to actress Eleanor Parker between 1946 and 1953, with the couple having
three children together. Irregularly cut. Toned. Right edge creased. Pencil
marking to left of Friedlob's signature. Slightly soiled on right margin on
verso. Ink notes (unknown hand) on verso show through to front. Otherwise, fine
condition.
