HARRY AND WALTER GO TO NEW YORK MOVIE CAST: CHARLES DURNING, ELLIOTT GOULD, CAROL KANE, AND DEE HOTY
The four performers sign on a color program from the 1976 film
Program Signed: "Charles/Durning", "Elliott/Gould", "Carol Kane", "Dee Hoty", in black felt tip 8½x11 folded, 17x11 unfolded. The 1976 film Harry and Walter Go To New York follows the story of two fools who try to pull off one of the biggest heists of the century. CHARLES DURNING (1923-2012) gained public notice and critical acclaim as a crooked cop in the Oscar-winning The Sting (1973). He went on to appear in several Burt Reynolds films, most memorably as the singing governor in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (1982). That performance landed him an Oscar nomination, as did his spin on "Concentration Camp" Erhardt in the 1983 remake of To Be or Not to Be. In 1975, Durning was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for his portrayal of ulcerated police lieutenant Moretti in the theatrical feature Dog Day Afternoon (1975); he finally won that award 15 years later for his work as "Honey Fitz" Fitzgerald in the TV miniseries The Kennedys of Massachusetts. A frequent figure on television (Evening Shade), he won a Tony in 1990 as Big Daddy in a revival of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Stage, screen and television actor ELLIOTT GOULD, born Elliott Goldstein in 1938, reached stardom with his nomination for a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice (1969), and he followed that success with the film version of M*A*S*H (1970). Despite fine performances in films such as The Long Goodbye, he declined as a box office draw. Gould, however, remains active in supporting and cameo roles in films, including Ocean's Eleven (2001) and its sequels, and on television, including a recurring role as Jack Geller, the father of Ross and Monica, on Friends. He also co-starred in the 2002 sitcom, Baby Bob. Gould, who was married to Barbra Streisand from 1963-1967, starred opposite her in Broadway's I Can Get It For You Wholesale. CAROL KANE (b.1952) , born Carolyn Laurie Kane in Cleveland, Ohio in 1952, is an Emmy-nominated American actress with over 110 movies and TV shows to her credit. Kane, a professional actress since 14, is well-known for her more off-beat roles, like Billy Crystal's lash-tongued wife in The Princess Bride (1986), the alternately fey-like and abusive Ghost of Christmas Present in Scrooged (1988) and as Grandma in Addams Family Values (1993). Kane also won two Emmies for her portrayal of Andy Kaufman's wife Simka on Taxi (1980-1983) and earned an Oscar nomination for her role as Gitl in Hester Street (1975). The American actress, DEE HOTY (b. 1952), majored in musical theatre in Ohio. After graduating and, in 1977, moving to New York, she began her professional acting career on the stage in the 1981 original production of Shakespeare's Cabaret. Her other stage work includes titles such as The Five O'Clock Girl (1981), Footloose (1998-2000), and Bye Bye Birdie (2009-2010). While her onscreen roles were mostly television, such as An Uncommon Love (1983), Models Inc. (1994), and Elementary (2012), Hoty also appeared in such films as Harry and Walter Go To New York (1976), Age Isn't Everything (1991), and The Understudy (2008). Lightly worn. Otherwise, fine condition.
