Postcard Photograph signed: "Faithfully yours/Harry Angers/Passing
Show/1919". B/w, 3½x5½. Harry Angers, born in Liverpool, England, was a
stage comedian who appeared in two films, Oh for a Plumber (1933) and
My Ain Folk (1945). He is probably best remembered now as the father of
comic actress Avril Angers (1918-2005), "the UK's Lucille Ball." The Passing
Show, a somewhat raunchier competitor of the Ziegfeld Follies, was produced
by the Shubert brothers at their Winter Garden Theater in New York from 1912 to
1924. Horizontal fold crease ½ from top edges. Tack hole at center top edge. ½
vertical fold crease to right of tack hole. Lower right corner creased. Corners
and edged worn. Pin-size spots at random over entire piece.
