Autograph note signed: "To Billy/ Harry Beresford/ "The Forgotten Commandment"" in blue
ink. 1 page, 6x4½. HARRY BERESFORD (1863-1944) was an actor who got his start on the
Broadway stage in productions of Boys Will Be Boys (1919), The Old Soak (1922), The
Undercurrent (1925), and Michael and Murray (1929). He eventually moved to
Hollywood, where he worked as a character and supporting actor in over 50 movies between
1926 and 1938. His film credits include Little Women (1933), David Copperfield (1935),
Anna Karenina (1935), and Follow the Fleet (1936). From the album collection of child
actor BILLY SEAY (1922-2012), who appeared in many films throughout the decade
including The Greater Glory (1926), My Man (1928), and The Marriage Playground
(1929). Seay would leave Hollywood in the early 1930s to become a noted artist and
illustrator. Toned and soiled. Creased throughout. Corners rounded. Binding holes in left
margin. Small stains throughout. Otherwise, fine condition.
