HARRY CARSON
The highly accomplished New York Giants linebacker and captain for ten years signs his name on this card
Signature: "Harry Carson/Giants" in black felt. 5x3. Linebacker Harry Carson (b. 1953) starred for South Carolina State (1972-1975), sparking the team to an NCAA defensive record of allowing only 29 points in 10 games. As a pro, he played his entire career with the New York Giants (1976-1988), a key component of a defense which was called "the Crunch Bunch" and "the Big Blue Wrecking Crew." He led the team in tackles for five years, and was captain for ten, named to the Pro Bowl nine times. He made seven tackles in the Giants' first Super Bowl victory (SB XXI). Carson was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2002, and to the Pro hall in 2006. He later became a sports broadcaster, and founded his own sports consulting and promotion firm. Lightly toned. Pencil note (unknown hand) on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
