Partly Printed Document Signed: "Henry Morgan", 8¼x2¾ Clipped from larger document. North Hollywood, California, 1945 December 20. Form filled out with the actor's name, address, marital status, telephone number and number of children (two). Prolific screen and television actor Harry Morgan (1915-2011) starred or co-starred in 11 different TV series and scores of feature films. Morgan, who is perhaps best known as Colonel Sherman Potter on M*A*S*H (1975-1983, winning an Emmy for the role in 1980) and Officer Bill Gannon on Dragnet (1967-1970), also co-starred in December Bride (1954-1958), Pete and Gladys (1960-1962), The Richard Boone Show (1964), Kentucky Jones (1964-1965), The D.A. (1971), Hec Ramsey (1972-1974), After MASH (1983-1984), Blacke's Magic (1986)and You Can't Take It With You (1987). Morgan, who made his film debut as Henry Morgan in 1942 (To the Shores of Tripoli) appeared in a wide variety of roles in a long list of films, including State Fair (1945), The Glenn Miller Story (1953), Inherit the Wind (1960) and Support Your Local Sheriff (1969). In 1945, the year he signed this document, Morgan appeared in The Horn Blows at Midnight, A Bell for Adano and State Fair. The actor changed his name to Harry Morgan after being confused with radio and TV personality Henry Morgan. Lightly creased at upper right blank corner. ¼-inch of right edge folded over, with ¼-inch vertical tear to right of address. Otherwise, fine condition.
