page, 8¼x11½. June 2, 1976. London, England. In part: "Dear Pauline, I
am sorry not to have been in touch for so long. I was waiting for news about the
radio programme (letter enclosed [not included]) I thought you might like
to hear. It was going to go out weeks ago and was postponed". H.R.F.
(HARRY) Keating (1926-2011) was an English writer most known for his
crime fiction and his character Inspector Ghote, which has spawned 25
novels. Keating previously worked as a journalist for the Daily Telegraph and
crime books reviewer for The Times, and published his first novel in 1959,
titled Death and the Visiting Firemen. He published four more
books under his previous publisher before switching to Collins Crime Club,
which remained his publisher for twenty years. During his career, he
published over 50 books, and headed several writing clubs (Crime Writers'
Association, Society of Authors, Detection Club). His last book came in 2009
with A Small Case for Inspector Ghote, and passed away two years
