wishes/Sincerely/Harvey Stephens". Sepia, 5x7. Harvey Stephens
(1901-1986) began on the stage, debuting on Broadway in 1929. Two
decades later, he was cast as Commander Harbison in South Pacific, one of
only two non-singing parts. He broke into film in a starring role opposite
Tallulah Bankhead in The Cheat (1931). Other prominent films included
The Texans (1938) and Sergeant York (1941). He made guest
appearances on TV through the 1960s, including multiple episodes of Alfred
Hitchcock, Wagon Train, Perry Mason and Bonanza. A
lifelong glider enthusiast who designed his own craft and organized
competitions, he entered the Soaring Hall of Fame in 1966. Slightly
bowed. Corners lightly worn. Otherwise, fine condition.
