British composer Haydn Wood wrote and signed these two bars of music and lyrics from one of his most famous pieces, Roses of Picardy, in 1952.
Autograph musical quotation signed "Yours Sincerely/Haydn Wood/Feb. 27. 1952". 5¾x5¼, with rounded left corners. Titled: "Roses of Picardy". With two bars of music and lyrics. Wood (1882-1959, born in Slaithwaite, Yorkshire, Great Britain) was a British violinist, pianist and composer. He published over 180 songs and ballads and 80 orchestral pieces and wrote an unpublished symphony, and his work is a still a major influence on British light music today. His most well-known pieces are Roses of Picardy, Montmarte, The Horses Guard - White Hall and The Bandstand - Hyde Park. Lightly toned and creased. Irregular right edge. Otherwise in fine condition.
