Hayley Mills signs first day cover introducing the Flowers USA stamps
First Day Cover signed: "Hayley Mills", 6½x3½. FDC honoring Camellia, 18-cent stamp affixed, postmarked Fort Valley, Georgia, April 23, 1981, FIRST DAY OF ISSUE. The daughter of English actor John Mills and younger sister of actress Juliet Mills, Hayley (b. 1946) made her film debut in Tiger Bay (1959), earning the British Academy's award as most promising newcomer. Hired by Disney Studios, she won a special Academy Award for her first American film, Pollyanna (1960). Other successes followed, including The Parent Trap (1961) and The Chalk Garden (1964). She even had a pair of hit records in the early 1960s. Mills starred in a TV series, Good Morning, Miss Bliss (1987-1989). In 2007 she appeared in the series Wild at Heart with her sister Juliet. After being cancelled and then renamed Life is Wild, 10 more episodes began filming in July 2009. Slightly worn at edges. Fine condition.
