Photograph inscribed and signed: "To Helen Neale/Bless You &/Yours/Hedda Hopper". B/w, 8x10. Hedda Hopper (1885-1966), who was known for her trademark flashy hats as well as for her gossip, hosted The Hedda Hopper Show on radio from 1939-1951 and first published her gossip column, "Hedda Hopper's Hollywood", in "The Los Angeles Times" on February 14, 1938. She carried on a long-running feud with rival gossip columnist Louella Parsons. An actress herself in many silent films, Hopper was the mother of actor William Hopper (1915-1970), best known as Paul Drake on Perry Mason, Hopper published her autobiography, The Whole Truth and Nothing But, in 1963.
