come to you on Sunday the 1st." Ellen Buckingham Mathews
(1853-1920) was an English author of novels and short stories using
the pen name Helen Mathers and David Lyall. Over her 35-year career,
she wrote a number of novels, including her most famous, Comin' Thro' the
Rye (1875), and The Lovely Malincourt (1929), as well as short
stories for Victorian periodicals. Lightly creased and soiled. Chipped at lower
right corner. Identifying pencil notes (unknown hand) at upper and upper left
margins. Stray ink marks. Otherwise, fine condition.
