Typed Letter Signed: "Helen Weaver" 1p, 6¼x9¼. Original mailing envelope included,
6½x3½. Torn open along top edge. Heavily toned. Corners and edges worn. Otherwise, fine
condition. Card and miniature envelope, 4¼x2¾, containing the former President Eisenhower's
facsimile signature are also included. Toned, especially at edges. Scuffing throughout.
Otherwise, fine condition. Written to: "Dear Mrs. Freer". In full: "The President has asked me
to thank you for your friendliness in writing as you did recently. At his request, I am
happy to send you the enclosed card bearing a facsimile of his signature, which you may
wish to add to your collection./ Sincerely". Lightly toned. Two horizontal mailing folds. Two
vertical folds. Otherwise, fine condition. She signs on behalf of Eisenhower's other
secretary, Ann Whitman. Helen Weaver functioned as President Dwight D.
Eisenhower's personal secretary at the Paris-based NATO Headquarters beginning in
1951. She also was his secretary at the White House, serving from 1953 to 1957.
Weaver was one of two secretaries who signed President Eisenhower's name to letters (Ann
Whitman being the other secretary). Three items.
