HENRY A. KISSINGER - AUTOGRAPHED INSCRIBED PHOTOGRAPH - HFSID 17593
Price: $300.00
HENRY A. KISSINGER. Photograph inscribed and signed: "To Merle
Johnson/With good wishes/Henry A. Kissinger". B/w, 8x9¼ overall, image 6x8
(one surface). Kissinger, a Harvard professor and author of several works of
history and foreign policy, became President Nixon's National Security Advisor
in 1969, and Nixon and Ford's Secretary of State from 1973-1977. He was awarded
the 1973 Nobel Peace Prize for his work in negotiating the Vietnam War
cease-fire agreement. Co-recipient Le Duc Tho of North Vietnam declined the
prize. A self-styled foreign policy "realist", Kissinger has earned the ire of
more ideologically oriented critics on both the left and right. Since leaving
government he has run his own consulting firm, Kissinger Associates. Stamped
"Official Photograph/The White House/Washington", May 9, 1970 on verso.
Lightly creased at lower left corner. Ink slightly smudged. Fine
condition.
