To "Dear Philip" In part: "…I am ashamed to find that I have not answered a letter of yours dated August 4th./ But I was away in Klondike when it came…The original intention of going to the Northern Rockies with Coleman was altered by an invitation from the Canadian Minister of the Interior to go to Klondike on his behalf and at his expense./ So I went, and had a very good time." Henry Alexander Miers (1858-1942) was a mineralogist and crystallographer. He attended both Eton College and Trinity College before joining the staff of Victoria University of Manchester as a professor. He stayed on at the University from 1915 to 1926, also serving as Vice-Chancellor during the same time span. Toned. One hard centralized horizontal fold. Faint staining and foxing on verso of third page of letter. Otherwise, fine condition.
