HENRY ARMETTA
The character actor signs a 6x4¼ green album leaf in black ink.
Signature: "Henry Armetta" in black ink, a 6x4¼ green album leaf. Henry Armetta (1888-1945) was an illegal-immigrant, 1902-style, stowing away on a boat from Italy. He found success in Hollywood as a character actor, often playing stereotypical, excitable Italians in comedies and not a few dramas, beginning in the silent era. Laurel and Hardy fans may remember his as the flustered innkeeper in The Devil's Brother (1933). His last film, A Bell for Adano, appeared after his death. Filing holes at left edge. One horizontal fold (not affecting signature). Otherwise, fine condition.
