HENRY ARMETTA - AUTOGRAPHED SIGNED PHOTOGRAPH 1935 - HFSID 19037
Price: $440.00
HENRY ARMETTA
Very rare signature of the Italian-American character actor.
Photograph signed: "To my friend,/Sincerely,/Henry
Armetta/1935". Sepia, 8x10. Henry Armetta (1888-1945) was an
illegal-immigrant, 1902-style, stowing away on a boat from Italy. He found
success in Hollywood as a character actor, often playing stereotypical,
excitable Italians in comedies and not a few dramas, beginning in the silent
era. Laurel and Hardy fans may remember his as the flustered innkeeper in The
Devil's Brother (1933). His last film, A Bell for Adano, appeared
after his death. Lightly creased and silvered at corners. Otherwise, fine
condition.
