Signature: "Henry Beckman/as/"Captain Clancey"/"Shlanta" - 1984", in black felt tip, affixed to a B/w 8x10 photograph. Actor Henry Beckman (1921-2008) was primarily known for his television roles, appearing in series such as Flash Gordon (1954), I'm Dickens, He's Fenster (1962), and Here Comes the Bride (1968). Beckman's television career was very successful, appearing in many recurring roles, but very few films out of his 189 acting credits. He did, however, appear in a number of Broadway plays, including The Golden State (1950) and Darkness at Noon (1951). Beckman and his wife, Cheryl Maxwell, founded the Dukes Oak Theatre in New York, with Beckman serving as the theatre's company producer. Corners lightly worn. Slightly toned. Ink notes (unknown hand) on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
