HENRY WINKLER
Henry Winkler signs a philatelic envelope for Christmas in
1979.
Philatelic Envelope signed: "Henry Winkler", 6½x3½. First Day
Cover for Christmas, 1979, 15-cent stamp affixed, postmarked North Pole,
Arkansas, October 18, 1979. FIRST DAY OF ISSUE. Artmaster cachet. On
October 30, 1973 his 28th birthday, Henry Winkler joined the popular sitcom
Happy Days as Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli. Although his character
was never meant to be the star of the show, kids of all ages soon were
imitating his leather-jacketed greaser with his trademark "Aaaay!" Both before
and since Happy Days completed its run (1974-1984) on ABC, Winkler
appeared several feature films, including Heroes (1977), Night
Shift (1982) and Scream (1996). Winkler has also appeared in a long
list of TV series, from Mary Tyler Moore (1973) to a recurring role as
Barry Zuckerhorn on Arrested Development (2003-2005). He returned to
headline his own sitcom with Out of Practice, which debuted in
September 2005. Winkler has also been a successful director, producer and
executive producer. Fine condition.
