Postcard Photograph signed: "H. V. Esmond". B/w, 3½x5½. Rotary
photo, captioned in lower margin. Henry Vernon Esmond (1869-1922)
starred in London stage comedies from 1889. By the 1890s, he was writing
light comic plays, starring in them himself with his wife, Eva Moore.
Fourteen of these plays reached Broadway, beginning with The Courtship of
Leonie (1896). Esmond and Moore performed Eliza Comes to Stay in New
York, to much acclaim, in 1914. Slightly worn. Otherwise, fine
condition.
