letter, refusing a request for the Prince's autograph (1869).

(1826-1903) was tutor to the Prince of Wales, the future King Edward VII,
later becoming the Prince's private secretary (1861-1870). A lawyer and
scholar, Fisher wrote Considerations on the Origin of the American
Revolution (1865). He was the father of Herbert A. L. Fisher, historian and
Member of Parliament; and of Admiral William Wordsworth Fisher; and the uncle of
author Virginia Woolf. Lightly toned and soiled. Normal mailing folds. Otherwise
fine condition,
