The U.S Congressman from Pennsylvania writes letter to bank Vice President, thanking him for the invitation and that he will be sure to sponsor the upcoming event, signs name in blue ink
Typed letter signed: "Herm" in blue ink. 1 page, 8x10½. Written on personal Congress of the U.S. House of Representatives letterhead. Washington, D.C. April 19, 1971. Addressed to Frank C.P. McGlinn, Senior Vice President of The Fidelity Bank in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In full: "Thank you for your letter answering my query about the requirements of being a sponsor - or listed as one - for the dinner which is being given to honor Howard Petersen, early next month. I shall be happy to have my name added to the list and am sorry I cannot find the available time to permit my attendance at the dinner. Please extend to him my very best wishes and congratulations even though I do plan to contact him myself. Kind personal regards. Sincerely". Herman T. Schneebeli (1907-1982) was a United States Representative from Pennsylvania. After graduating from the Tuck School of Administration and Finance in 1931, Schneebeli was hired as a commission distributor for Gulf Oil Corporation and an automobile dealer. With the outbreak of World War II he served as a captain of the Ordnance Department from 1942 to 1946. In 1960 he was named to, in a special election, the U.S. House of Representatives, a position he would hold for nine terms, not seeking reelection in 1976. The Herman T. Schneebeli Earth Science Center at Penn State University and the Herman T. Schneebeli Federal Building are named in his honor. Normal mailing folds. Toned. Corners rounded. Light surface creases.
