HERMAN'S HERMITS (PETER NOONE)
Captioned image of the vocalist, head resting on his palm
Photograph signed: "Peter Noone". Color, 7x7 image, 8x10 overall (one surface). Captioned at lower margin. Peter Noone, born near Manchester, England in 1947) is a British singer and actor best known as the lead singer of Herman's Hermits from 1962 to 1973. Herman's Hermits had 20 singles in the Top 40 on British and U.S. charts between 1964-1970. Their hits included "I'm Into Something Good", "I'm Henry the Eighth, I Am", "Leaning on the Lamp Post", "No Milk Today", "Dandy" and "There's A Kind of Hush (All Over the World)". Remarkably, the Hermits resurrected some old British music hall songs as pop hits! Although he continued to tour with the group, Noone branched out into acting, primarily on television. He starred as Stanley on Coronation Street, Britain's longest-running soap opera and on the British series, Look, Mike Yarwood! (1971-1973). Noone, known for his boyish charm, hosted My Generation (1989-1992). He has also been seen on U.S. television in guest starring roles on several series, including Laverne & Shirley, Too Close For Comfort, My Two Dads and Quantum Leap and even the daytime soap opera, As the World Turns. Noone's feature film credits include Hold On! (with Herman's Hermits), Mrs. Brown, You've Got a Lovely Daughter (also the title of one of the group's popular songs that was never released as a single), Never Too Young to Rock and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Ink marks on verso (no show-through). Otherwise, fine condition.
