The musical High Button Shoes, written by Stephen Longstreet and George Abbott (with music by Jule Styne and lyrics by Sammy Cahn), debuted in 1947 on Broadway. Winning a Tony Award for it's choreography by JEROME ROBBINS, the play ran for 727 performances between 1947 and 1949 before switching to a national tour. This production, likely in the fall of 1948, starred EDDIE FOY, JR. as con-man Harrison Floy, FRANKIE HYERS as shill Mr. Pontdue, and ELLEN HANLEY as the young Fran. The play has seen performances in London's Wes End, and was televised in 1956 on NBC. Light surface creases. Corners and edges slightly worn and creased. Lightly soiled.
