Clipped signature: "H.O. Arnold-Forster" in gray ink. 4x1¼, affixed to 7½x6½ piece of paper. H. O. Arnold-Forster (1855-1909) was a British politician and writer, best known for his tenure as Secretary of State for War from 1903 to 1905. Arnold-Forster began his career as private secretary to his adoptive father during his time as Chief Secretary for Ireland, and later went on to serve as secretary for the Imperial Federation League. He joined Parliament in 1892 as a Liberal Unionist, a position he held until his death; it was there he served in many prominent positions including Parliamentary and Financial Secretary to the Admiralty and Secretary of State for War.
