Program from The London Palladium. Carmichael, who has a b/w photo, 1½x1¾, on his page, is listed as an upcoming attraction (starting March 26, 1951 for two weeks). The other signers were part of the current program (two weeks, beginning March 12, 1951). O'Connor's page has a b/w photo, 1½x1¾. One of the great composers of American popular song, Hoagy Carmichael (1899-1981) wrote such standards as "Stardust", "Georgia On My Mind" and "Heart and Soul". He also sang and played (piano and occasionally trumpet) well enough to perform his own songs and also appeared as a character actor in 14 films. Actor/singer/dancer Donald O'Connor (1925-2003) was an actor and dancer popularly cast in the non-dancing role of a hapless army private who can't convince anyone that a mule can talk in Francis in1950. While still starring in the “Francis the Talking Mule” film series, O'Connor was loaned to MGM for what is regarded as his finest film role, happy-go-lucky Cosmo Brown in Singin' in the Rain (1952). British comedian Michael Bentine (1922-1996) was a charter member in the comedy troupe that created the BBC'sCrazy People in 1951, the year he appeared on this program. That year, Bentine, who later developed TV programs on his own, also appeared in the British film Cookery Nook. His other films include Fun at the Movies (1957) and Bachelor of Arts (1969). Brothers George and Bert Bernard had previously appeared at the Palladium in 1948 as the "Ugly Sisters" in Cinderella. In 1952, they co-starred in the film Gobs and Gals. Lightly soiled. Cover has separated from inside pages. Front and back covers have separated except for 1" near top edge. Tackhead-size stain at lower margin on O'Connor's page. Otherwise, fine condition.
