Photograph signed: "Honore Morrow". Sepia, 3¾x5¼. Born Nora Bryant McCue, this American writer (1880-1940) adopted Honore as a pen name, writing with her two married names, Honore Willsie and then - after her divorce and remarriage to publisher William Morrow - as Honore Morrow. She published many works of fiction, both books and magazine short stories, but is best remembered for her historical works on Abraham Lincoln, including her 3-volume "Great Captain" series (1927-1930). Four of her fictional works were turned into films, beginning in the silent era and concluding with Seven Alone (1974), based on her On to Oregon. Fine condition.
