Photograph inscribed and signed: "[Inscription in German]/Horst Buchholz". B/w 3½x5½.,
Berliner Horst Buchholz (1933-2003) emerged as a German film star in the 1950s and
began appearing in English-language films in the subsequent decade. A youthful gunslinger
in The Magnificent Seven (1960), he played an East German communist transformed into a
fake aristocrat by Coca Cola executive Jimmy Cagney in the Cold War spoof One, Two,
Three (1961). His last major film performance, a highly praised one, was in Life is Beautiful
(1997). Tape residue on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
