anchorman Howard K. Smith (1914-2002) was chief European correspondent for CBS
News (1946-1957) and Washington correspondent for CBS (1957-1961). In 1960, he
moderated the first debate between presidential candidates John F. Kennedy and
Richard M. Nixon. From 1961-1975, Smith was a reporter and anchor at ABC (radio
and TV), retiring from ABC in 1979. He was the first major newsman to call for
President Nixon's resignation. Slightly creased. Pin-size impressions at upper
blank background (barely evident head on). Fine condition.
