U.S. virologist Temin (1934-1994) won the 1975 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine (with Renato Dulbecco and David Baltimore) for his role in discovering reverse transcriptase, an enzyme that transcribes RNA into DNA, a successful challenge to previous scientific theory. Temin identified the enzyme while conducting research on a virus that causes cancer in chickens. Dulbecco and Baltimore experimentally verified Temin's hypothesis that cancer cells affect genetic material. Horizontal fold touches signature. Slightly creased. Fine condition.
