letterhead from United States Senate, Washington, D.C. 20510. 21 March 1979.
In full: "Mr. Paul J Friscat/1114 Sunford SE/North Canton, Ohio
44720/Dear Mr Friscat: Thank you for your nice note and your request for a
favorite quotation. I think I like the one of Lyndon Johnson's which seems
especially appropriate now - as it did when he said it: 'Come let's reason
together'. Sincerely" Howard W. Cannon (1912-2002) was a decorated major
general and US senator. Cannon, born in St. George, Utah on January 6, 1912,
graduated from Dixie State College and then subsequently graduated from the
University of Arizona's law school. He was a lawyer in Arizona, Nevada, and
Utah before going off to fight in World War II, where he served as a
bomber pilot. His time in the military earned him many awards, including the
Silver Star, Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross, 3 Air Medals, and a
Purple Heart. After retiring from the military, Cannon was elected as city
attorney for Las Vegas, Nevada and eventually went on to be their senator from
1959 to 1983. Mailing creases. Light crease on top left corner. Otherwise, fine
