Donruss, Leaf, Inc. baseball card, no. 214. Hubie Brooks (b. 1956) played
15 Major League seasons (1980-1994), including 6 with the New York
Mets and 5 with the Montreal Expos, finishing up in shorter stints with the
Dodgers, Angels and Royals. In 1986 he was hitting .340 for the Expos in August
when a hand injury ended his season. A two-time All-Star and two-time Silver
Slugger, he could play left field, right field, third base or shortstop.
Baseball guru Bill James called him "a lot more valuable in reality that on
paper." This bat was given to the owner of Taco Mac, an Atlanta bar and
restaurant popular with players. Corners creased. Edges worn. Fine
condition.
