great personal honor, enhanced by your willingness to be connected with it. With gratitude and all
good wishes". Hugh Downs (1921-2020) was a radio announcer who became a popular TV
personality when he joined Jack Paar's The Tonight Show (1957-1962). An erudite man
who wowed audiences with his knowledge on a wide variety of subjects, Downs went on to
host the daytime quiz show, Concentration, the Today show (1962-1971) and the
nighttime news magazine show, 20/20 (1978-1999). Downs, who was in the Guinness
Book of World Records in 1985 for the greatest number of hours on commercial TV, has
also produced a number of documentaries and has appeared in several feature films (usually as a
TV newsman). Slightly creased. Fine condition.
