Carbon contract between them and Leo Feist, Inc., signed in ink, relating to their most famous collaboration, "Meet Me in St. Louis". In part: "You have advised us of your desire to employ the musical compositions from the score of the Loew's Incorporated motion picture production entitled 'meet me in st. louis' in a new adaptation you are planning to make...We hereby agree to allow the performance of the musical compositons entitled:- 'The Trolley Song', 'The Boy Next Door', 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas', 'Skip to My Lou'...." Leo Feist, Inc., agrees to pay Martin and Blane "The sum of Two Thousand ($2,000.00) Dollars as an advance against royalties. We will pay said sum upon the delivery to us of the first eight of the Musical Works to be written and composed by you hereunder...." The original 1944 Hollywood musical Meet Me in St. Louis featured songs with words and music by HUGH MARTIN AND RALPH BLANE. The film was directed by Vincente Minnelli and starred Judy Garland. They married a year later. In the coming Broadway season, their daughter Liza Minnelli will be performing songs from her father's musicals including Meet Me in St. Louis, in Minnelli on Minnelli.
