Photograph signed "Huntz/Hall". 10x 7¾ overall, 9¼x6¾ image, one surface. Publicity photo no. 56 of 568 from Allied Artists for the 1956 movie Hot Shots. Hall (1919-1999, born Henry Richard Hall in New York City) appeared in a total of 81 East Side Kids/Bowery Boys features and serials, more than any other actor. Hall always played the same type of role, first called Pig, then Glimpy and, finally, Sach. He had attended New York's famous Professional Children's School and was a boy soprano with the Madison Square Quintette. As a child, he was a radio actor, playing in such shows as Lady Next Door, Billy and Betty, and Bobby Benson. From 1935-1937, Hall played Dippy in the Broadway play Dead End, recreating his role in the 1937 film, Dead End, starring Humphrey Bogart and a group of youngsters who became known as the Dead End Kids. Stage roles Huntz Hall played in the 1980's and 1990's across the country included Willie Clark in The Sunshine Boys, Felix in The Odd Couple and Milt Manville in the play, Luv. Lightly toned and creased. Lower and left edge are lightly torn. Otherwise in fine condition.
