I CAN'T KEEP RUNNING IN PLACE PLAY CAST
Playbill signed on the cast page by six of its stars
Show Bill signed: "Marcia/Rodd", "Evalyn/Baron", "Joy Franz", "Bev Larson", "Jennie Ventriss", "Helen Gallagher", 26 pages, 5½x9 In all 6 signatures. Show Bill for a production of I Can't Keep Running in Place at New York's Westside Arts Theatre (May to October 1981), signed on the cast page. MARCIA RODD (b. 1940) made her professional stage debut in Provincetown in 1962, in Oh Say Can You See. She appeared in four Broadway productions, from Love in E Flat (1967) to I'm Not Rappaport (1987). She co-starred with Elliott Gould in the feature film Little Murders (1972), but most of her screen work has been on TV (about 4 dozen guest appearances). She was seen in several of the Norman Lear sitcoms, including the All in the Family episode which would generate the spin-off Maude (in the role later played by Adrienne Barbeau). Her most recent stage performance to date was in Don't Leave It All to the Children at the Actors Temple Theatre (2009). EVALYN BARON (b. 1948), a Tony nominee for Quilters (1985), appeared in 5 Broadway and 4 Off-Broadway productions between 1977 and 2006. JOY FRANZ (b. 1941) logged 14 New York stage appearances between 1966 and 2009, seven on and seven off Broadway. Franz specializes in musical roles, including Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls and Jack's Mother in Into the Woods. JENNIE VENTRISS (b. 1935) made 8 New York stage appearances between 1967 and 1992, shifting her focus to screen character roles in the 1990s. Her most recent film appearance to date was a supporting role in The Inner Circle (2009). HELEN GALLAGHER (b. 1926) won two Tony's for musicals: Best Supporting Actress in Pal Joey (1952) and Best Actress in No, No, Nanette (1971). She was nominated also for Sweet Charity (1966). Gallagher's evenings on the stage left her plenty of time for daytime TV work, including 787 episodes of Ryan's Hope (1985-1989). This was apparently the only New York stage appearance for Bev Larson. Fine condition.
