York. TOM SMOTHERS (1937-2023) and his younger brother, DICK SMOTHERS (b.
1939), first appeared professionally at the Purple Onion in San Francisco in 1959, and they
made their first national television appearance on The Jack Paar Show in 1961. The Smothers
Brothers Comedy Hourwas televised on CBS from 1967 until, after numerous censorship
battles, they were cancelled in 1969. They revived the show in 1988, and the new version of
The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour ran until 1989. Tom and Dick have appeared, both
together and separately, in feature films and made-for-TV movies. They also made
guest starring appearances on several TV series. The Smothers Brothers, who currently
hold the record for longevity for a comedy duo, continued to tour across the nation until
2010, when they announced their retirement. American actress JANIE SELL (b. 1941)
appeared on stage from 1968 to 1996 and won the 1974 Tony Award for Best Featured
Actress in a Musical for Over Here! For the role she also won a 1974 Theatre World
Award. Sell also appeared in such Broadway productions as Irene (1973-1974), I Love My
Wife (1977-1979), Moon Over Buffalo (1995-1996) and was nominated for a 1980 Drama
Desk Award for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical for God Bless You, Mr.
Rosewater. Stage and film director GENE SAKS (1921-2015) has worked closely with
playwright Neil Simon, directing 8 of Simon's plays and the film versions of 3 more, including
The Odd Couple (1968). Nominated for seven Tony Awards, Saks has won three as
Best Director, for I Love My Wife (1977), Brighton Beach Memoirs (1983) and Biloxi
Blues. Saks, who also appeared on stage and screen before turning to directing, was married
to actress Bea Arthur from 1950 to 1978. American playwright MICHAEL STEWART
(1924-1987) was born in Manhattan, New York. A graduate of the Yale School of Drama,
his works have been performed on Broadway since 1951. He is the winner of three Tony
Awards, the 1961 Award for Best Musical for Bye Bye Birdie, the 1964 Award for Best
Musical for Hello, Dolly! and the 1964 Award for Best Author for Hello, Dolly!. Nominated
for seven more Tony Awards, his other works include Carnival!, Mack & Mabel, I Love My
Wife, Barnum, 42nd Street and Harrigan 'n Hart. BARBARA SHARMA (b. 1942) is an
actress of stage and film, known for her distinctively high-pitched cutesy voice. She began her
work in theatre, with her first major credit being in the Broadway comedy Little Me (1962).
Although her roles in theatre were never large, it brought her enough notoriety to carry over to
television, appearing in several reoccurring roles in television series, including Myrna in Rhoda
(1974), Shelley in Glitter (1984), and Mrs. Recinos in Becker (2000). She was also a regular
performer on the show Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In, appearing in 50 episodes. Also signed
by MICHAEL MARK as Stanley. Corners slightly worn. Lightly toned. Otherwise, fine
