He began his career as a hip hop artist in the 1980's and released his first cd, Rhyme Pays, in 1987. Through the late 1980's and 1990's Ice-T became a highly successful and influential force in the rap world. His 1992 song "Cop Killer" stirred a wide controversy over the song's referencing to murdering police officers who have committed police brutality. After the negative reactions from President George H.W. Bush, Tipper Gore and the Parents Music Resource Center, the rapper decided to remove the song from his album Body Count. During his years as a rap artist Ice-T appeared in several films including the classic 1991 film New Jack City and in the early 2000's he made a successful transition from musician to television actor by landing the role of NYPD detective Odafin Tutuola on the NBC drama Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Ice-T is still a presence in the rap world and continues to appear in television and films. Fine condition.
