overall, image 8x9 (one surface). Igor Sikorsky (1889-1972), a pioneer in the
advancement of the helicopter and naval aircraft, constructed and flew the
first multi-motored airplane in 1913. He also built the first amphibian
American Clipper, which pioneered transoceanic commercial flights in
1931. In 1939, Sikorsky developed the first practical American
helicopter. He is enshrined in the National Aviation Hall of Fame.
Lightly creased. Slightly soiled above last name. Chipped at blank right edge
and at lower left blank corner. Ink and pencil notes (unknown hands) on verso
(no show through). Overall, fine condition.
