Postcard Photograph signed: "I. Stravinsky". B/w, 5½x3½. Not filled in or stamped on verso. Russian-born Igor Stravinsky (1882-1971), who became a U.S. citizen in 1945, was one of the greatest composers of the 20th century. He wrote works in the neo-classical and serialist styles, but he is best known for two works from his early Russian period: L'oiseau de feu (The Firebird, 1910) and Le sacre du printemps (The Rites of Spring, 1913). Stravinsky also wrote in a broad spectrum of ensemble combinations and classical forms. His works ranged from symphonies to piano miniatures. Ink slightly beaded at the "I" and the "Strav" of signature. Slightly creased. Tack holes at all four corners. Name written (unknown hand) in ink on verso, which has mounting remnants at upper margin (no show through). Otherwise, fine condition.
