Telegram Unsigned: 8x5¾. Sent by Western Union to Beverly Hills, California. Dated
October 30, 1950. One page. In Full: "Am considering excellent local deal offered me
unexpectedly yesterday. Would feel any offer under fifteen thousand including my conducting
premiere unfair to me. If Ricketson still interested he should reconsider his figures at once will
answer your letter Oct 27th later greetings". Russian-born composer Igor Stravinsky
(1882-1971) was perhaps the greatest classical composer of the 20th century. The classical
music conductor spent large portions of his life in Russia, Switzerland, France, and the United
States. He moved to the United States in 1939 as WWII began to deliver a series of lectures at
Harvard University. His famous compositions include the operas Firebird (his breakthrough
work in 1910), Petrushka (1911), and The Rite of Spring (1913). Other musical works
include the Symphony of Psalms (1930). He also published several books, including his
autobiography Chronicles of My Life (1936). Stravinsky is considered one of the greatest
composers of all time, and certainly of the 20th Century. Toned. Holes punches along left
edge. Folds and creases. Unsigned.
