ELLEN BARKIN (b. 1954) is one of the most respected, versatile actresses on the screen. She made her critically acclaimed film debut as the neglected wife of an obsessive record collector in Barry Levinson's Diner (1982) and then played a small but vital part as Robert Duvall's troubled daughter in Tender Mercies (1983). Following her appearance in the romantic thriller The Big Easy in 1987, Barkin gained a small but devoted following. Irish actor GABRIEL BYRNE was born on May 12, 1950 in Crumlin, Ireland. At age 29 he began a stage acting career, but he became a known actor for his role in The Riordans, a television series which earned him his own spin-off soap opera Bracken. He debuted in film in 1981 when he played King Uther Pendragon in the 1981 film Excalibur. His most notable film credits include playing D'Artagnan in the 1998 Three Musketeers film The Man in the Iron Mask, Lionheart (1987), Little Women (1994), Trial by Jury (1994), Stigmata (1999) and Assault on Precinct 13 (2005). In 2008 he began the role of Dr. Paul Weston in the HBO series In Treatment, which earned him a nomination for an Emmy Award and won him a Golden Globe Award as the Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series.
