Photograph signed: "Kevin/McCarthy", and "Dana Wynter". Color, 12¾x10 Construed by some as a parable of the (Joe) McCarthy era or a critique of suburban conformity, Invasion of the Body Snatchers works just fine as a very scary science fiction yarn. Kevin McCarthy as Dr. Miles Bennel and Dana Wynter as Becky Driscoll gradually unearth the secret of alien invaders replacing human beings. Based on a novel by Jack Finney, this story has been remade as a film twice, but most fans still prefer the low budget, creepy original. McCarthy (1914-2010), who was trying to warn the world at the end of the 1956 film, appears briefly in the 1978 version, still attempting to spread the alarm. British actress DANA WYNTER (1930-2011) has an impressive eighty-two titles to her name including a starring role in the original Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) and Sink the Bismarck (1960). She also portrayed Queen Elizabeth II in the TV movie The Royal Romance of Charles and Diana (1982). Her other works include Something of Value (1957), Airport (1970), Fantasy Island (1979), The Love Boat (1979-1981), and many more. KEVIN McCARTHY (1914-2010) began his career with his portrayal of Biff in the original 1948 production of Death of a Salesman. In 1951, he re-created his role in the film version that launched his movie career. He earned greater fame as Dr. Miles Bennell in Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956), and made a cameo appearanace in the 1978 remake. In addition to his movie career that thrived for four decades, McCarthy scored a personal theatrical triumph in the one-man show Give 'Em Hell, Harry! He starred in the television series The Survivors (1969), Flamingo Road (1981), The Colbys (1983) and Bay City Blues (1984). Signature lightly bled through to verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
