IRENE CHAPMAN
The actress sends requested materials to Daniel Blum, Founder of Theatre World, on behalf of her husband William
Typed letter signed: "Irene Chapman", in blue ink, 5¾x8. May 5, 1961. New York City, New York. In full: "Dear Mr. Blum: Enclosed are the pictures you requested of William Chapman [items not included]. We completed the form you sent and mailed it under separate cover. Hope this information is sufficient for your purposes. Sincerely". Actress Irene Chapman has appeared in several off Broadway plays, and also appeared in two films (Around the World in Eighty Days 1956, A New Kind of Love 1963), though both roles went uncredited at the time. Currently, she teaches acting and vocal lessons at her own studio, Chapman & Chapman. DANIEL BLUM (1900-1964) founded Theatre World in 1945, serving as its chief editor until his death in 1964. Aided by Norman McDonald and John A. Willis (his successor as chief editor), Blum also conceived what would become the prestigious Theatre World Awards for promising new actors in the New York stage, Broadway and later off-Broadway as well. Toned on top margin. Paper clip crease on top margin. Small tear near creases. Otherwise, fine condition.
